I'm finally posting Costa Rica pictures!! We went on a "delayed" honeymoon to Costa Rica at the end of August after getting married in April. BEST DECISION EVER. Seriously, we would recommend a delayed honeymoon to anyone. Right after we got married we went to the perfect place in Estes Park, CO which turned out to be a pretty funny adventure. We didn't realize it was "off season" so nothing was ever open past 6 or 7 at night (we learned that the hard way and had a romantic dinner at the McDonalds drive-thru our first night) and may have witnessed a parking lot drug deal.. Anyway, we had a great time but still had all summer to look forward to Costa Rica. It was amazing! We went in August which is rainy season there, which is the slow tourist season as well. At times we felt like we had the resort to ourselves! We also learned that is a great time to go because everything is so beautiful and GREEN. One of our tour guides said that everyone comes at the wrong time and sees the brown Costa Rica. We were definitely spoiled with food. Everything was delicious and even lunch was 3 courses (luckily we have lost the weight we gained since being home). The beaches had black sand because it was volcanic which was kind of crazy. Our favorite part of the trip though was a tour we took on the third day. It was a two hours jet ski tour! Nick did not think I would do very well with this because open water and sea creatures terrify me! We were miles into the middle of the ocean on a little jet ski but I loved it! One of the final stops of the tour was the coolest thing I have ever seen. All of a sudden, we were surrounded by dolphins! We turned off our engines and just looked around with jaws dropped; they were all over the place! We did another really fun all day tour the next day where we got to zip line through the jungle on a volcano, horseback ride, hike to a waterfall, go down a natural water slide, and eat authentic Costa Rican food. Overall, it was an amazing trip and we constantly wish we were back!!
